This is a used OEM-style GM LS 241 cylinder head. The 241 casting is a cathedral port LS cylinder head commonly found on LS1 and other early Gen III LS-based engines.
241 heads are a common factory LS cathedral port head and are often used for stock replacement, repair work and budget LS builds. They are not as sought after as later 243 or 799 heads, but they are still a useful OEM GM casting for many LS applications.
With a larger combustion chamber than 706/862 heads, 241 heads can be useful in combinations where a slightly lower compression ratio is preferred. They can be a good option for basic 5.7L LS1-style builds, stock rebuilds or mild performance engines where an affordable factory cylinder head is required.
